What is this material

This ornamental thread is spun from polyester, a fibre known for its strength and durability. Because of the smooth structure, the thread glides easily through fabric and the sewing machine without fraying or breaking. The silk sheen gives every decorative stitch a polished, almost handcrafted look. Thanks to the polyester composition, the thread is also colourfast and can withstand washing at normal temperatures, so your stitching stays beautiful for years to come.

Applications

Gütermann ornamental thread is specially developed for visible stitches that add that extra finishing touch to a project. Dark Olive works beautifully for:

• Decorative stitches on jackets and trousers in autumn tones
• Finishing buttonholes with a clearly visible thread
• Decorative edge stitching on bags and belts
• Contrasting or subtle stitching on camouflage print and outdoor fabrics
• Quilting where the stitch becomes part of the design
• Handwork projects such as embroidery and appliqués
• Top stitching on pockets and collars for a polished finish
• Repair and updating of garments in olive green tones
