What is this material

This ornamental thread from Gütermann is made from polyester, which gives the thread its signature sheen and durability. The slightly thicker construction, no. 120, ensures that decorative stitches stand out and create a real visual impact on fabric. Polyester thread is naturally strong and won't break easily, even with intensive use on the sewing machine. The silk sheen gives every stitch a polished, premium look. Thanks to its colour fastness, the dark navy shade stays vibrant and deep even after washing.

Applications

This ornamental thread is designed to stand out and is widely used for decorative seam finishes. Consider these uses:

• Decorative stitching on jackets and trousers
• Stitching buttonholes
• Decorative edging on bags and accessories
• Denim seams with contrasting or matching stitches
• Finishing pockets and cuffs
• Quilting with visible decorative stitches
