What is this material

This ornamental thread is made from polyester, which makes the thread naturally strong and durable. Because the thread is slightly thicker than regular sewing thread, the ornamental stitching shows up beautifully in visible seams. The silk sheen gives a refined look without being showy. Polyester is also colourfast and hardwearing, so your stitching keeps its fresh appearance even after frequent washing. The composition also makes the thread resist breaking when sewing at high speeds.

Uses and projects

Thanks to the slightly thicker thread and lovely sheen, this yarn is especially well suited for visible topstitching. Think of these uses:

• Decorative stitching on jackets, trousers and skirts
• Stitching buttonholes
• Decorative seams on bags and accessories
• Finishing pockets and lapels
• Topstitching on denim and gabardine
• Embroidery where a subtle sheen is wanted
• Quilting with visible stitches
• Finishing collars and cuffs
