What is this material

This Gütermann ornamental thread is made from polyester, a material known for its strength and durability. The fibres are firmly twisted into a thread with a subtle sheen, which makes decorative stitches stand out beautifully on fabric. Polyester thread is colourfast and stretches less than natural fibres, ensuring even stitching. The thickness of this thread makes it suitable for visible stitches that need extra strength and presence. You can tell the quality straight away from the smooth finish and consistent thickness across the entire spool.

Applications

This ornamental thread works well for all kinds of projects where a decorative or striking stitch is desired. Think of:

• Decorative stitching on jackets and trousers
• Finishing buttonholes
• Decorative edges on bags and accessories
• Contrast stitching on denim and workwear
• Visible seams on tablecloths or cushions
• Embroidering small accents
• Hem finishing with a playful colour accent
• Quilting projects where the stitch remains visible
