What is this material

Gütermann's ornamental thread is made from polyester with a lovely silk sheen, giving the thread subtle lustre and a smooth feel. The thread is thicker than standard sewing thread, which keeps your stitches visible on the fabric. Gütermann polyester thread is known for its strength and durability - it won't snap easily and holds its colour even after frequent washing. Because the thread weight is consistent, it feeds smoothly through your sewing machine without snagging or fluffing.

Uses

This cobalt blue ornamental thread works well for many decorative sewing projects. Think of:

• Decorative stitching on jackets and blazers
• Stitching buttonholes
• Decorative edging on bags and accessories
• Contrast stitching on denim and canvas
• Finishing pockets and lapels
• Machine embroidery with structured stitches
• Quilting where the thread line remains visible
• Accent seams on garments with a textured look
