What is this material

Gütermann ornamental thread is spun from polyester, which makes the thread not only strong but also gives it that characteristic silk sheen. Because the thread is slightly thicker than regular sewing thread, a decorative stitch really stands out without the thread breaking or fraying easily during sewing. Gütermann's quality is recognised by sewists worldwide, and you'll notice that in the even thickness and the smooth way it glides through the needle. This thread is colourfast and washable, so your decorative stitching stays looking great.

Uses

Ornamental thread in this soft pink shade has plenty of applications for anyone wanting to add that extra touch to a sewing project. Think of:

• Decorative stitching on collars and cuffs
• Finishing buttonholes
• Decorative edging on children's clothes
• Hand or machine embroidery work
• Accent stitching on bags and accessories
• Quilting with visible stitches
• Hemming with contrasting thread
• Detail work on bridal wear or baby items
