What is this ornamental thread

This ornamental thread is made from polyester, and thanks to that fibre it has a natural sheen and pleasant suppleness as you sew. The thread weight no. 120 is thicker than standard sewing thread, which means your stitch really stands out on the fabric. The thread is strong and won't break easily, even with repeated stitching over the same seam. Gütermann is known for the consistent quality of their threads, both in colour fastness and strength. The small 30 metre spool gives you just enough thread for smaller decorative projects or finishing touches.

Uses and projects

Anthracite ornamental thread is useful for anyone who wants to add that extra finishing touch to their sewing projects. Think about:

• Decorative stitches on jackets and trousers
• Stitching buttonholes
• Decorative edges on bags and accessories
• Visible stitches on denim and denim projects
• Finishing pockets and cuffs
• Quilting with visible contrast thread
• Embroidery work where a subtle sheen is desired
• Repairs where the stitch can remain visible
