What is this material

This ornamental thread is made from polyester, which makes it naturally strong and durable. It won't snap easily, even with heavy use or on fabrics that put real tension on the thread. The silk sheen gives the thread a luxe look, so your stitches really glow against the fabric. Thanks to its fine, even thread thickness of no. 120, it's a pleasure to work with on both hand-stitching and machine-sewing projects.

Uses

Gütermann's ornamental thread is versatile for anyone who wants to add that extra bit of detail to their sewing. Think about these applications.

• Decorative stitching on garments and accessories
• Stitching buttonholes
• Decorative edge finishing
• Emphasising contrasting seams
• Embroidery and appliqué work
• Finishing bags and wallets
• Quilting with visible stitch lines
• Handcraft projects where sheen is wanted
