What Makes This Jersey Feel Like Cashmere

No actual cashmere fibre is used here. Instead, a blend of viscose, polyester and nylon is knitted into a fabric that mimics the look and softness of real cashmere fairly closely. The viscose gives it that smooth, cool-to-the-touch quality and helps with moisture management, while polyester and nylon add strength and keep the shape intact after repeated wear and washing. At around 240 g/m², it sits in the medium weight range, heavy enough for structure but light enough to drape well on a dress or cardigan.

Working With Cashmere Touch Jersey on Your Machine

This fabric behaves well on a domestic sewing machine, no industrial setup needed. A stretch or jersey needle in size 70-80 prevents skipped stitches and snags. Sew seams with a narrow zigzag or a stretch stitch so they keep moving with the fabric instead of popping. Finish raw edges with an overlock or serger if you have one, or a narrow zigzag if not. When pressing, keep the iron on a low to medium setting and work from the wrong side, ideally with a pressing cloth, to protect that soft surface.
