What is elastic edging ribbon

Elastic edging ribbon is a narrow band that stretches naturally, folding easily around curved or straight edges. The elastic fibres in the composition keep the ribbon supple even after sewing, which is exactly what you need when finishing swimwear or activewear. The band feels soft against the skin and holds its shape even after frequent washing. At 17mm wide, it's narrow enough for fine finishes but wide enough to sew securely. You'll recognise this type of ribbon by its subtle sheen and the way it naturally stays in place.

This elastic edging ribbon is the go-to choice for projects where fabric needs to move freely without the edge puckering or waving. On Rijs Textiles you'll find this ribbon in countless colours, so you can always match your fabric.
