Rib Knit Jersey Fabric - Little Daisy Clay Pink

This rib knit jersey shows a warm clay pink background scattered with small cream daisies and dark, almost black leaf sprigs. The print sits light and airy on the fabric, not too dense, which gives it a fresh, playful look without becoming overly sweet. You can feel the fine vertical ribs running through the fabric, giving it that familiar ribbed structure while the surface itself stays soft and smooth to the touch.

What kind of fabric is this

This is a rib knit jersey made with a compact yarn, which explains why the fabric feels dense and holds its shape well despite the stretch. The cotton base gives it that natural, breathable feel against the skin, while the small amount of Lycra brings the four way stretch that makes rib knits so comfortable to wear. It falls under our rib knit digital print range, where the pattern is printed directly onto the ribbed base so the daisy print stays crisp and well defined even after multiple washes. If you care about safe, tested textiles, this fabric is part of our Oeko-Tex certified collection.

What to make with it

The clay pink tone and small scale daisy print make this fabric easy to work into a lot of different garments, especially anything close fitting where you want the ribbed texture to show.

  • Fitted tops and bodysuits
  • Long sleeve turtlenecks
  • Baby and toddler rompers
  • Girls dresses with a gathered skirt
  • Cropped cardigans or jackets with rib trim
  • Loungewear sets and pajamas
  • Cuffs, collars and waistbands for other garments
  • Headbands and small accessories

What is Compact Yarn?
Compact Yarn is a type of yarn that is produced using a compact spinning method, which is a newer and advanced spinning technique developed in the late 20th century. Compact yarns are yarns with a special spinning technique, where the fibers are twisted into a very small twisting triangle, which eliminates fibers. This new yarn structure gives compact yarns better strength, better stretch, and less hairiness compared to conventional ring-spun yarns.

In the compact spinning process, the fibers are twisted and drawn simultaneously, which reduces the amount of hairiness and fiber protrusion from the yarn. This results in a smoother and more even yarn with fewer fiber ends protruding from the surface. Compact yarn (highly twisted) also pills less than loose yarn (with low twist).

Compact yarn is used in various textile applications, including high-quality knitwear, fine woven fabrics, and denim fabrics. It is often made from long staple fibers such as cotton, wool, and silk, but can also be made from synthetic fibers.
