What is this elastic edging ribbon

This edging ribbon is woven from a mix of polyamide, polyester and elastane, a combination that gives both firmness and stretch. You'll notice right away that the ribbon gives way easily when you pull it, yet keeps its shape after sewing. The matte finish prevents a glossy or plastic look, so it appears natural on your garment. Because of its elastic properties, it's specifically designed for use on stretch fabrics, where regular bias tape without give would quickly pull tight or tear. The 20mm width is a handy, commonly used size that works well on both small and larger edges.

Uses and Projects

This elastic edging ribbon is essential for finishing edges that need to move with the body. Think of:

• Armholes and necklines on swimsuits and bikinis
• Leg openings on underwear and briefs
• Edges on sportswear and yoga leggings
• Finishing baby and children's clothing with stretch
• Waistbands on skirts and trousers in jersey
• Decorative finishing on t-shirts and tops
• Repair or replacement of elastic edges on existing clothing
