Cotton Slub Washed Fabric Sea Green

Cotton Slub Washed Fabric Sea Green

This sea green cotton has a soft, washed character that you notice the moment you look at it closely. Small irregular lines run across the surface from the slub yarns, giving the fabric a slightly uneven, handwoven look instead of a flat, machine-perfect finish. Gathered or folded, it falls into loose, relaxed waves, which shows this cotton has a natural, easy drape rather than a stiff hand. The sea green tone is calm and muted, easy to combine with other colours in both clothing and home projects.

What makes cotton slub different

Cotton slub is a sturdy, vintage-looking woven fabric with a natural linen-like appearance, made entirely from cotton fibres. The name comes from the so-called slub yarns used to weave it, yarns that are deliberately spun with small knot-like thickenings along their length. These irregularities give the fabric its characteristic bumpy texture and subtle shine variation, something you can clearly see in the way light catches the surface unevenly. It is this texture that sets slub cotton apart from a plain, smooth cotton weave and gives it so much character. You can find more fabrics like this one in our cotton slub texture fabric collection.
