Cotton Slub Washed Fabric Light Yellow

Cotton Slub Washed Fabric Light Yellow

This light yellow cotton has a warm, sunny tone with a soft washed finish that gives it a relaxed, lived-in character right out of the box. Look closely and you will spot the fine irregular lines running through the weave, the signature of slub yarns, which break up the surface and keep it from looking flat or machine-perfect. Gathered into folds, the fabric falls in loose, soft waves, showing a natural drape with just enough body to hold its shape. The matte finish and gentle texture give it a quiet, understated look that works just as well in a sunny kitchen as on a summer dress.

What makes this fabric special

Cotton slub is a sturdy, vintage-looking woven fabric with a natural linen appearance, made entirely from cotton. The yarn used to weave it is spun with small irregularities on purpose, known as slub yarns, which create tiny knot-like thickenings throughout the fabric. These little bumps and variations give the surface its distinctive texture and depth, so no two metres look quite identical. The washing process softens the hand even further, resulting in a fabric that feels broken in from the first use rather than stiff and new. It is breathable, lightweight and easy to work with on a home sewing machine using a standard universal needle.
