This jersey is knitted from carded and combed compact yarn Ne 30/1, a yarn type where the short, uneven fibres from the cotton have been removed and the remaining fibres are extra tightly compressed during the spinning process. The result is a yarn with fewer loose hairs and greater evenness, which is directly visible in the calm, uniform surface of the fabric. For reactive digital printing, this type of yarn is particularly well suited, because the flat surface takes in the ink evenly and the colours therefore appear brighter and sharper. You can see this reflected in the fine lines of the flower stems and the subtle colour transitions in the petals, details that blur quickly with a coarser yarn. What is Compact Yarn?
Compact Yarn is a type of yarn that is produced using a compact spinning method, which is a newer and advanced spinning technique developed in the late 20th century. Compact yarns are yarns with a special spinning technique, where the fibers are twisted into a very small twisting triangle, which eliminates fibers.
