Gütermann Extra Strong Dark Brown 100M (696)

Gütermann Extra Strong Dark Brown 100M (696)

This spool shows a deep, warm dark brown shade with a subtle sheen that really comes through in the twisted yarn on the bobbin. The colour recalls dark chocolate or tanned leather, rich and saturated with no red or grey undertones. You can tell at a glance this isn't fine sewing thread - the yarn looks thick and twisted, with a smooth finish that speaks to strength and durability.

Product Features:

• Item Number: G100-696
• Composition: 100% Polyester

What is this material

This extra strong thread is often compared to classic heavy duty thread, originally made from linen. Many sewists and leather workers hunt for jumbo heavy duty thread because they need serious strength, but more and more are reaching for this polyester option instead. The big advantage is that this yarn won't rot the way linen thread can over time, keeping your seams intact for years. Thickness no. 40 makes it suited to tough jobs, while the smooth structure lets the thread run cleanly through needle and machine without fraying or breaking.

Uses

Thanks to the strength and weight of this yarn, you'll turn to it for projects where regular sewing thread just won't cut it. Think:

• Stitching leather bags and wallets
• Shoe repairs and sole attachment
• Finishing heavy rugs and carpets
• Sewing canvas and outdoor furniture covers
• Attaching straps and buckles
• Mending camping and outdoor gear
• Setting buttons extra secure
• Reinforcing canvas and denim

Conclusion

With this dark brown colour and robust strength, this thread is a workhorse for anyone handling leather, canvas or other heavy materials. Browse the full range of Gütermann Extra Strong 100M or explore more choices within our sewing threads collection for every type of project.
