Gütermann Extra Strong Rust 100M (221)

Gütermann Extra Strong Rust 100M (221)

This spool shows a deep, warm rust colour with a soft sheen that catches the light beautifully. The thread is wound tight and even on the bobbin, and you can tell straight away that this isn't ordinary sewing thread but a sturdy, robust variant. Rust is an earthy, timeless shade that shows up in many wardrobes and home fabrics.

What is this extra strong thread

This Gütermann thread is comparable to traditional heavy-duty thread, known for its toughness and resistance to tearing. The polyester material means the thread has minimal stretch and lasts a long time, even with heavy use. You notice the difference the moment you feel it between your fingers - the strand is thicker and sturdier than standard sewing thread. That's exactly why this type is used so often for jobs where strength and durability matter more than finesse. It's part of the Gütermann Extra Strong 100M range, designed specifically for heavy work.

Uses and projects

This extra strong thread in rust is your ally for projects that demand more than standard sewing thread can deliver. Think of:

• Stitching denim jeans and jackets with visible, solid seams
• Sewing or mending leather bags, straps and wallets
• Attaching buttons so they really stay put
• Repairing canvas, sails and garden furniture covers
• Finishing heavy rugs or floor mats
• Reinforcing leather shoes or resoling
• Harness work and leather goods on hobby projects
• Decorative stitching on canvas bags or backpacks

Conclusion
