Gütermann Extra Strong Sewing Thread Eggplant 100M (512)

Gütermann Extra Strong Eggplant 100M (512)

This deep eggplant shade has a rich, almost dark purple glow that works beautifully for sturdy projects with character. On the spool you'll notice right away the smooth, tight construction of the thread, a sign of the high tension used when spinning this yarn. It's a colour that disappears nicely into dark wool fabrics or holds its own with heavyweight denim and leather, or gives a subtle accent when you want it to.

Product Features:

• Item Number: G100-512
• Composition: 100% Polyester

What is this material

Gütermann Extra Strong is comparable to traditional iron thread, which was once made from linen. Since linen is prone to rot and wear, this thread is made entirely from polyester, which keeps it much more durable without losing any strength. The thread feels sturdier than regular sewing thread and has a smooth finish that glides well through the needle and through thick layers of fabric. Thanks to weight 40, this thread is noticeably more robust than fine standard thread, making it suitable for work where you really need to count on the seam. You'll find this type of thread in our Gütermann Extra Strong 100M collection as well.
