What is panne velvet

Panne velvet, also called velours de panne, is made using a special finishing process where the velvet nap is crushed flat in one direction during production. This gives the fabric that signature high sheen and glittering, almost metallic effect you don't get with regular velvet. The crushed finish creates a lively play of light and shadow in the cream tone, depending on how light hits it and from what angle you're looking.
