What exactly is seamband

Seamband, also called fusible fleece tape, is a thin heat-sealing tape you use to stabilize seams, edges and hems. The tape has an adhesive layer on one side that melts under the heat of your iron, so you can simply press it in place without sewing. You lay the tape exactly where your fabric needs extra stability, press it down and then continue with sewing or finishing. This stops edges from stretching, fraying or curling while you work.

Uses and application

You press seamband onto the seam allowance before you start sewing, or onto the cut edge for extra protection against fraying. This tape is a real asset in your sewing room for:
