How do I sew polypropylene webbing?

Use a jeans needle or universal needle size 90–100 and strong polyester thread. For handles, shoulder straps and load-bearing applications, we recommend a rectangular stitch pattern with diagonal reinforcement, also known as a box-X stitch. You can briefly heat-seal the ends of polypropylene webbing with a lighter to prevent fraying.

Which is better: polypropylene webbing or cotton webbing?
