Lightweight Lurex Glitter Jersey Fabric Dark Gold

This glitter jersey catches the light in a way you won't soon forget. The dark gold base is filled with fine lurex shimmer, with subtle hints of red that peek through and add depth. You can see from the photos how the fabric falls in soft folds, exactly what you'd expect from a jersey with this kind of sheen. What is this lurex glitter jersey

This is a single jersey with a glitter finish, made from lurex yarn that gives the golden shine and shimmering effect. Since it's a knit jersey, the fabric has a soft drape and stretches mainly across the width, which moves nicely with fitted clothing. The fabric is lightweight and somewhat sheer, so keep that in mind when making garments and consider using a lining under your cut pieces. Sew with a stretch needle to avoid damaging the lurex threads and get a smooth, even seam. The shimmer holds up well after washing at 30 degrees, as long as you don't bleach it and dry on a low setting.

Uses and Projects

This glitter jersey is made for projects where you want to stand out, from the stage to the dance floor. The fluid drape and shine work well for:

• Party dresses and evening wear
• Tops with a shiny trim for going out
• Dance outfits and ballet costumes
• Stage costumes for performances
• Carnival clothing and costume wear
• Details and insets on simpler garments
• Accessories like scarves or headbands
