What exactly is “Hologram Lycra – Shattered Glass”?

A stretchy lycra (80% polyamide, 20% spandex, approx. 210 g/m²) with a glossy holographic foil in a shattered-glass pattern. The foil refracts light in multiple directions for a striking, sparkling effect.

How much stretch does the fabric have?

It has 4-way stretch (lengthwise and crosswise), making it ideal for close-fitting styles such as leggings, bodysuits and dancewear.

What can I use this fabric for?

Perfect for dancewear, festival & stage outfits, leggings, bodysuits, tops/halter tops, carnival & performance costumes, and decorative projects that need extra shine.

Is the fabric see-through?

The base knit is compact and opaque in most colours. For very tight or heavily stretched styles you may prefer a lining (e.g. stretch lining or mesh).

Which needle, thread and stitch should I use?

Use a stretch needle 75/11–80/12 with polyester thread. Sew with a short zigzag or stretch stitch/overlock and enable differential feed to prevent waviness. Avoid pins (use clips) to keep from perforating the foil.

How do I care for it?

Follow the care label: hand wash, do not bleach, do not tumble dry, do not iron and do not steam/dry-clean. Wash inside out and dry flat to protect the foil.

Will the hologram foil peel off?

Under normal use the foil remains intact. Avoid high friction, sharp pins and heat (iron/dryer) to prevent damage.
