What exactly is this corduroy jersey

Corduroy, also called ribcord, is traditionally a woven fabric with characteristic ribs. This version is a knitted variant, also called knitted corduroy jersey, where the classic corduroy look is combined with the stretch and comfort of jersey. The cords run across the width of the roll, from selvage to selvage. Thanks to the four-way stretch and smooth drape, you can often use the rib pattern in the length direction too, depending on how you lay out your pattern pieces. This way you can play with the direction of the ribs and create a different effect in your finished project.
