Jersey fabric is a type of knit fabric made from interlocking loops of yarn, resulting in a smooth, stretchy surface. It is commonly used for a wide range of clothing items, including t-shirts, dresses, sweatshirts, and leggings. Cotton Jersey is known for its comfort and versatility, as it can be worn in both casual and formal settings.
There are many different types of jersey fabrics, each with its own unique properties and characteristics. French Terry, for example, has a looped pile on one side and a smooth surface on the other, making it ideal for sweatshirts and joggers. Bamboo Jersey is made from bamboo fibers, which are known for their softness, durability, and sustainability. Nicky Velour is a type of velvet fabric with a soft, plush surface and a brushed backing. It is often used for clothing, upholstery, and home decor items.
Other variations of jersey fabric include rib fabric (Wide Drop Needle, Ottoman, Rib Jersey or Knitted Corduroy), which has vertical ribs or raised ridges on the surface, and Ajour Fabric, which has a pattern of openwork or holes. Viscose Jersey is made from synthetic fibers and has a soft, absorbent quality, while Scuba Crepe is a polyester knitted fabric with crepe construction on one side.
Cuff Rib is a type of fabric that runs around the edges, often used for cuffs, collars and hem bands on clothing.

OEKO-TEX Standard fabrics are textiles that have been certified as free from harmful levels of chemicals, dyes, and other substances that could be harmful to human health or the environment. The OEKO-TEX Standard is an internationally recognized certification system that tests and certifies textiles based on a set of strict environmental and safety criteria.
