Gütermann Sew-All Thread 200m

Gütermann Sew-All Thread 200 Metre

Gütermann Sew-All Thread 200 Metre is a polyester machine thread that works on nearly any fabric, from cotton to synthetic blends. Each 200 metre spool comes in one of 250 colours, so matching your fabric shade is rarely a problem. This thread suits garment sewing, quilting, patchwork and smaller repair jobs alike. It's one of the staples in our sewing thread range, ordered regularly by home sewists and businesses producing made-to-measure work.

Composition and thickness

The thread is 100% polyester, thickness no. 120. That thickness makes it a genuine all-rounder: fine enough for lightweight fabrics, strong enough for sturdier weaves. Polyester also gives good colourfastness, so your garment or project keeps looking sharp after repeated washes.

A colour range of 250 shades

With 250 colours to pick from, you'll almost always find the exact tone you're after, whether that's a neutral beige, a soft grey or a bold accent colour. Torn between two shades? Go slightly darker rather than lighter. A darker thread disappears into the seam more easily than one that's just a touch too pale.

What this thread is used for

Sew-All Thread 200 Metre gets used for:

• sewing garments, from blouses to trousers
• quilting and patchwork projects
• small repairs and alterations
• home decor sewing such as cushions and curtains
• both machine and hand sewing

For specific jobs, other threads in our range fill in the gaps. Overlock Thread 3000 Yards is the better pick for finishing seams on stretch fabrics, while Gütermann Extra Strong 100M (M782) handles heavier fabrics and seams under more strain. Decorative stitching and buttonholes call for Gütermann Ornamental And Button Hole Thread instead.

Other lengths and qualities

Working on a bigger project or sewing professionally? Gütermann Sew-All Thread 500 Metre or Gütermann Sew-All Thread 1000 Metre works out cheaper per metre. For finer work with a tighter finish, such as in fashion ateliers, Gütermann Atelier Thread MARA 1000 Metre or Atelier Sewing Thread 1000 Metre Thickness 120 is worth considering.
